Jackfruit Payasam Recipe | Halasina Hannina Payasa | Chakka Payasam. Popoualr, traditional, super delicious, seasonal special jackfruit payasam recipe. This jackfruit payasam recipe is from the Kerala cuisine. Made with jackfruit, coconut milk and jaggery.

Jackfruit Payasam

 1 cup Ripe jackfruit
 ½ cup Jaggery
 1 cup Coconut grated
 1 tbsp Corn flour
 1 tsp Cardamon powder
 1 tbsp Ghee
 Few Cashews
 Few Raisins

Chop jackfruit into small pieces. Keep aside.

Take 1 cup of fresh grated coconut and grind it to smooth paste with little water. Pour the contents in a bowl or pan lined with a thin muslin or fine strainer.

Press with a spoon on the coconut shreds so that all the milk is strained away. Thick coconut milk is ready. Keep aside.

Now prepare corn flour paste, take a small bowl add 1 tbsp corn flour and 1 tbsp water mix well. Keep aside.

Take a kadai add chopped jackfruit and little water, cook for 5 to 10 min or until the jackfruit is tender.

Add ½ cup jaggery and cook for a min, mix well.

Now Add corn flour paste and coconut milk, stir well. By adding corn flour paste payasam looks thick and creamy.

Boil for a min in medium flame.

Take a small pan add 1 tsp ghee and few cashews and raisins, fry for a min.

Pour this mixture to payasam and add 1 tsp cardamom powder. Mix well.
