Lemon Rice | Chitranna | Lemon Rice Recipe | How to Make South Indian Lemon Rice. Lemon Rice is one of the most popular and often made rice recipe from South India.

Lemon Rice

 1 cup White rice
 ½ cup Onion chopped
 3 Green chilli chopped
 1 tbsp Lemon juice
 ½ tsp Mustard seeds
 1 tbsp Ground nuts
 1 tsp Urad dal
 Few curry leaves
 A pinch of turmeric
 ¼ tsp Sugar
 1 tbsp Coconut grated
 Salt to taste

Cook 1 cup rice in pressure cooker. Rice should not become too soft.

Take a bowl and mix 1 tbsp grated coconut, salt, 1/4 tsp sugar and 1 tbsp lemon juice. Keep a side.

Heat oil in a pan and add 1 tbsp ground nuts, 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, 1tsp urad dal, 4 chopped green chilli and few curry leaves.

When they start popping, add 1/2 cup chopped onion, a pinch of turmeric.

Fry till the onions turn slightly brownish.

Now Add the rice and mix well.

Add coconut mixer, mix well and turn off the heat.

Lemon Rice or Chitranna is now ready to serve.
